23 Monkeys is a community of artists and art-appreciators, as well as a marketplace. Designers can post their T-Shirt designs on 23 Monkeys, and anyone who wants to can purchase these shirts to support them. We simply print the shirts and pay the artists.

In a world where the standard concept of a gallery or museum is becoming increasingly archaic and sterile, artists have turned to new platforms to display their work. For many new artists, T-Shirts are the canvases of today's society. Think of 23 Monkeys as a gallery for these new mobile-canvases. A living, organic gallery.

Well, yes. Of course our shirts are made of organic cotton, printed in green labs, and packaged with recyclable materials, but it's also so much more than that. In our gallery, designs are made into shirts nearly as quickly as they are submitted. Members of the 23 Monkeys community can then give feedback to these artists by commenting and voting for their favorite designs. As a result, the gallery is always growing and changing.

NOTE: Due to requests we have added an option to order regular cotton shirts. All our shirts can still be purchased on organic cotton, but now you can order regular shirts for slightly cheaper prices. Let it be known that the organic option is only $3 more, which we consider a small price to pay to help save the world!

You do not have to register with 23 Monkeys if you just want to purchase a T-Shirt, but that's really just the tip of the iceberg! By registering, you can start voting for your favorite designs, giving your favorite artists feedback, and earning free stuff.

23 Monkeys relies on its community of artists and supporters to exist. This is just our little way of saying "thank you."

You can get free stuff on 23 Monkeys by earning credits. There are a variety of ways you can earn credits. If you take a picture of yourself wearing one of our shirts, for example, you'll get 1 credit. Or if you tell your friends about 23 Monkeys, you'll get 2 credits. Because 23 Monkeys is always changing, it can be hard to keep up with if you don't have time to check the site everyday. The newsletter will keep you up-to-date on everything from new designs, to new products, and new community features.

For every shirt of yours we sell, we give you $5. We take care of everything - printing, shipping, and payment. You don't have to worry about a thing. All you have to do is upload your design, and we'll inform you every time you make a sale. Once you make a sale you can go into your account and withdraw the money through PayPal. It's that easy.

Anyone can submit designs to 23 Monkeys. The 23 Monkeys team will check each design for quality and content before publishing them, and will contact you if there is any problem with your design.

Every shirt you sell is kept track of in your account. You can access your account by clicking the “My Account” button in the menu tab. Once inside your account you can withdraw funds by using PayPal. PayPal is the easiest, quickest, and most secure way to transfer funds. Once you've sold some shirts, next to your account balance will be a button that says “Pay Me Now”. Just click the “Pay Me Now” button on your account page, type in how much you want to withdraw, and you're done!

(Note: PayPal won't allow you to withdraw money until you have a minimum of $25. Although it is minimal, PayPal does take a fee for transferring money. We suggest making few but large transactions with your PayPal account. It's up to you.)

This may sound kind of obvious, but the best way to sell your shirts is to tell people they are for sale! Show your design to your friends and family. You can even earn credits for free stuff by using our “Tell a Friend” function. Click here to check it out.

Of course! This is one of the most effective ways to promote your designs. You can embed your designs on your website or blog by using our Design Widget. At the moment, we can only print on the front. Because we offer designers such a large profit of their sales at 23 Monkeys, we've found it impossible to print on the sleeve or back (which can be quite costly). However, we are working on a way to change this. Sign up for our newsletter, and we'll keep you updated!

There are no boundaries to your creativity. Making something unique and new is always encouraged. However, designs with less color, or colors that blend in with the color of the T-Shirt are generally more popular. Images that deliver a clear visual message are also popular.

The beauty of 23 Monkeys is that every T-Shirt is made specifically to order. In this sense, there aren't really any “limited edition” tees. If you want your design to be limited, you can just remove it from the site so people will stop ordering it, but that seems kind of silly doesn't it? 23 Monkeys works to your advantage in this way because every T-Shirt is always in stock, and anyone who likes your design can order it. It also prevents potential waste from over-ordering.

If you decide you are unhappy with your design for any reason you can remove it with the click of a button. Simply go into your account, click "My Designs" (where all your designs will be displayed), and deactivate the design you want to remove. You can reactivate the design at any time and add it back to the 23 Monkey's catalog for sale

The quality of our T-Shirts is very important to us (and it should be to you, too). We use sweatshop-free, unisex T-Shirts made by Gildan, right here in sunny California. Our shirts are also made from 100% organic cotton, which is certified, amongst others, by the USDA. All our shirts are pre-washed, have seamless collars and double seamed hems and sleeves.

Yes. We are obligated to charge you sales tax. Sales tax is determined by the state you are ordering from.

There are special tax and customs regulations for deliveries outside of the USA. Please inquire about the current customs and tax regulations in the destination countries for the deliveries with the tax and customs offices near you.

Unfortunately we cannot accept orders from outside of the U.S. that are over $400. You can make multiple orders. Thank you for understanding.

1. Turn shirt inside out
2. Machine wash on max. 40 °C/104°F
3. DO NOT use detergent with bleach or fabric softener
4. DO NOT put your shirts in the dryer - hang your shirts to dry
5. DO NOT iron the print
